2/3 After Meall Buidhe (Corbett) and before Stuc an Lochain. Bad peat hags at bealach to minor hill to S but otherwise good going - and a path down to bealach with Stuc. Dead calm on summit, hot sunny day. Rounsfell29/05/2023

Solo clockwise round of Meall Buidhe & Sròn a' Choire Chnapanich from Pubil. Park on verge by farm exit near the bridge past Pubil. Walked along track on North side of Loch Lyon, before ascending steeply. From low point 709m easy path up, though snowline started at around 800m and was ankle deep by the summit. Visited both cairn and pile of stones before return to point 709m. Descending down to follow Feich Thalain down to near 600m before ascending Sròn a' Choire Chnapanich. Easy desceny back down to Pubil from there. Mix of clag, drizzle and blue skies but very cold on top. Total time 4h 48min.mproudfoot22/11/2022
From Meall Buidhe. Awkward descent from col at 709m NE down steep slopes next to Feith Thalain. Kept mostly to SE side of burn. Then up grass through Creag Doire nan Nathrach. Descended S on grassy slopes to join track near dam on Allt Phubuill. KeithByTheC25/07/2022

Along the Loch Lyon north side track from just west of Pubil to its highest point then over easy mossy ground to Meall Phubuill 710m then on to the 796m summit. NE to Sron a' Choire Chnapanaich, avoiding the worst off the hags. An old fence line drops southwards then re-climbs to Meallan Odhar. Continuing to Stuc an Lochain meant that we joined the Easter walkers enjoying the unseasonal sunshine, so we left the tourist path to bag the empty An Grianan. A straightforward descent westwards to the hydro dam on the Allt Camaslaidh, where low water levels made a potentially tricky crossing to the track on the far side more feasible than would be the case in wetter conditions.summitter03/04/2021
From Pubil. Was advised by a very pleasant local to use the track starting at point 305 (slightly east of the buildings) which was no hardship. Good track to the dam then pathless but straightforward easy gradient grassy slope to the summt.Owen B20/09/2020
Parked W of Pubil on verge, headed up the hill to N crossing over to the dam on Allt Phubuill, continuing up slopes to Bealach a' Mhaim and thence to summit of Sron a' Choire Chnapanaich, descended SW along old fence line to col at 616m, then contoured along S side of Feich Thalain to col at 709m, ascended N to E ridge of Meall Buidhe and round W and S to summit, descended back to 709m col, then up slopes to SE and along to summit of Creag a' Chaorainn, descending SE more or less directly back to start.kdbennett31/07/2020

An anticlockwise round of 5 tops direct from tent by Loch Lyon dam only slightly hampered by cloud on a couple of tops. Creag a Chaorainn; on same heading to Meall Bhuide; contoured back round tio Creag Doire nan Natraich, saw fox at about 650m; Meall nan Odhar;and then contoured south to An Griannain and SW back to road and tent.dickscroop01/06/2019

Climbed with Meall Buidhe, starting straight up via Meall Phubaill and Creag a'Chaorainn from the highest point on the Loch Lyon track. Great views and remarkably easy going. These hills seem popular - there's a vague path in places.Gill05/05/2016

Marilyn No.2 of 16 climbed over 18 hours in a solo attempt to climb 24 marilyns within 24 hours with supplies dropped of by friends at the few valley crossings. Lonely and lovely place to be mountain running in my Walshes on a lovely summer's day - careful not to have a mishap our here.Chris Pearson01/06/2002
Christmas Day 2001. MC JC. From Pubil on a very wintry day. Strong NW wind whipping in hail and snow showers. About 50 mph all day. Meall Buidhe first over point 796m reaching top in 2h15. Good intermittent views to Rannoch Moor. Tedious climb to Chnapanich through black peat bog to a rounded summit. Several large herds of deer sheltering in E corries. Quick descent from summit. 3 deg at car. Deer on road on way back. Pint in Strathyre.Martin6625/11/2001
