An afternoon stroll after the rain and snow stopped. From wet parking at NS966073 at the Daer reservoir, followed the track along the wall, then up and over Comb Law, following the fence. Oh so soggy and wet snow going down then up Hirstane Rig, but better going on the ridge to Rodger Law. Followed faint ATV track down to sheepfolds and track back to the house by the bridge.Gill28/03/2024
7 Donalds & 2 Donald Tops from Kirkhope Cleuch - Comb Law, Rodger Law, Ballencleuch Law, Scaw'd Law, Glenleith Law, Wedder Law, Gana Hill, Earncraig Hill, Penbreck & Queensberry. Very wet underfoot return over the Lamb Hill ridge. 19.5 milesGary Heath06/03/2024

Parked on Daer Reservoir road and then followed tiny path along forest edge before heading straight towards summit. A bit wet and windy. Onwards to Rodger Law. Delighted to bump into Colin C, a fellow bagger at parking spot.Crumblie216/07/2023
4 of 4: From Rodger Law. Back down to the Roman Road and then Durisdeer. With Karen.ChrisR23/05/2023
The Google Maps suggested route to Durisdeer was awful, this is the route via the ford, it wasn't the ford but the huge potholes that were the problem. Would suggest taking the longer route. Followed tracks the whole way up to Glenleith Fell, Wedder Law and back the same way to Scaw'd Law. Then a pleasant walk to Ballencleuch Law and Rodger Law. Long trek through boggy and peaty ground to Comb Law which was pleasant enough once you got up there. Followed Kirkstane Grain down to Sheepfold, waded across the stream (boots just about dry though) and then took the Roman Road (very pleasant) back to Durisdeer. Didn't see a single person all day.tsharp10/05/2023
Over Hirstane Rig, following fence from Ballencleuch Law. Followed fence NE then ESE, back to Kirkstone Cleuch. Solo. Rain+++Dangerous Dave17/10/2022

08:00, slight westerly breeze higher up, cloudless. 9 degrees when I left the car but 21 when I returned an hour later. From east.Wycombe Wanderer11/08/2022
Parking at cattle grid, NS966062. ATV track N, then fence line straight up to hurdle and on to open fell to join ATV track between Watchman’s Brae and Rodger Law. Bearable grass and hags over Hirstane Rig to Comb Law, then bits of path and ATV to bridge at NS966072.Isbjorn27/05/2022
Parked at the end of the forest on the Daer Reservoir road, following a grass track along the forest line to a wall and fence that climbs to Comb Law. An ATV track aids continuation to Hirstane Rig and Rodger Law. Over to Ballencleuch Law then fence/wall line to Scaw'd Law. Once down the south flank a stone track heads up to Glenleith Fell and Wedder Law and Shiel Dod. The track continues to Daer Water and the Reservoir road. 4.5hrs.summitter08/04/2022
Daer Reservoir Donalds, parking at Kirkhope Cleuch around midday on Saturday 2nd April, I headed up Coomb Law (645m, Donald), then around to Rodger Law (688m, Donald Top) & along to Ballencleuch Law (689m, Donald & Graham). Then Scaw’d Law (663m, Donald), some heather bashing to get ‘directly’ to Glenleith Fell (612m, Donald Top), followed by a track to top of the Glenleith Burn & up to Wedder Law (672m, Donald), I carried on to Gana Hill (668m, Donald) and down to the Burleywhag Bothy, where I camped & chatted with 3 guys who already had the fire going inside. Sunday 3rd April, late / lazy start, up to Queensberry (697m, Donald & Graham), then via Penbreck & some peat hags to Earncriag Hill (611m, Donald). The plan was to follow the north ridge, over Lamb Hill & Over Law to Crookburn Farm, but I got feed up with the peat hags & descended west to ford the Daer Water and join the track to Kirkhope then the public road back to the car for 16:00. Great trip.chillyman802/04/2022

Parked near Kirkhope Cleuch Cottage (NS 9667 0731). Field gate ~360m south along the road, then up to Rodger Law -> Ballencluch Law -> Scaw'd Law first. Dropped back down to the 605m col, then contoured round at ~630m over Gana Hill and Hirstane Rig for Comb Law. Picked up Hitteril Hill on the return.jonglew01/04/2021

Parked at the church in Durisdeer and followed tracks to Webber Law, Glenleith Law and Scawd Law before the route continuing on to Ballencleuch Law, Rodger Law and Comb Law, extending the route to also take in Meikle Shag and returning to the car via the Well Path. Sixteen and half mile in just under Seven hours.WAYNE ROWLETT13/10/2020
Solo. From near the end of the road to Kirkhope. After ascending Rodger Law and Ballencleuch Law. Followed fence and ATV track to Comb Law – rather boggy in parts. High point of Comb Law not obvious – several points of much the same height. Followed wall/fence down to road – there’s a track towards the end. Fine day.pwbellarby15/09/2020

Good parking at Kirkhope Cleuch. Followed fence against forest and then directly to the summit. Headed to Rodger Law.bolton14/07/2020
Just follow fence from Ballencleuch. A bit boggy in parts made far easier by freezing. Finally got a view. Descended to roman road, past the roman fort. What an army that was! Bet they enjoyed their winters up here. Back to Durisdeer. 5 hrs 35 mins of bliss. Company: Soloiandesbottes18/01/2020

Solo from the edge of the forest at Kirkhope Cleuch on a very windy day. Followed fence line up to Comb Law which was pretty much a crawl at the top due to the strength of the wind. Dropped a little below the fence line to continue on anything other than hands & knees & then got blown over Rodger Law & down Watchman's Brae back to the road.NotReallyABagger29/12/2018
Short clockwise round of Kirkhope Cleugh via Rodger Law.benalder28408/12/2018
From track near Daer Reservoir. Followed southern upland way until break in forest/metal gate with a rough track leading to broad grassy ridge. Follow wall/fence to summitN.Morters21/07/2018
From Kirkhope Cleugh anticlockwise round of Four Donalds, two Donald Tops and an xDT. Ground bone dry which was a huge help. Distance 11.4 miles, 2400ft ascent - just under six hours.Crib Goch19/07/2018
Parked N. side of cattle grid at Kirkhope Cleuch 9668 0732. The 1st of 6 Donalds/Donald Tops on an anticlockwise circuit SW of Daer Reservoir - ATV track along S. side of wall. ATV track ends just above top corner of forest, but continued to follow fence line to unmarked summit. Continued to Roger Law. (S)gerrybowes02/05/2018
S/F by cottage below Hitteril Hill (good parking). By forest then easy ground up to summit. Lots of lambs about and had good chat with friendly farmer.AndrewFinnimore29/04/2018
Fittingly from Durisdeer war memorial taking well made track up to just short of Glenleith Fell. Returned to track and followed to very near to Wedder Law before returning same way avoiding wet ground and angling up to Scaw'd Law from gate. Followed ridge to Ballencleuch Law with two minute stop at 11:00, then on to Rodger Law on ATV track. Bit of cross country from there to Comb Law descending to Meikle Shag and then over very wet ground to take the old Roman Road back to Durisdeer. The fort is very impressive.SS11/11/2017

With J, from A702 out along SUW E then SE on track clear of forest and S up to summit plateau; a repeat of first climb on 29/04/2015. Returned NW then beside forest edge to track bend, attempt to avoid deep rushes low down but only partly successful. Weather was cold with strong N wind on top but blinks of sunshine and no rain. Third visit used the same routes, this time with 4 other members of KHWC - M&D C, MB and DB; surprisingly no rain although it was all around.jacobus07/11/2016
Circuit from Daer Reservoir.Grinner30/10/2016
