Enoch Hill and McCowans Knowe - wind farm tracks almost to the top of both.Tisteln06/02/2024
Parked in the small hamlet of Burnside. Onto HillendAndrew Simmons14/12/2023
From Burnside area, parked at locked farm gate on wide verge (NS 5904 1091) 500m along track to Brockloch. Farmer came past, had a chat, explained he had to keep the gate locked these days but parking there was ok. Took a line over Blarene Hill, Benty Cowan Hill and High Chang Hill - all easy ground. On to McCowans Knowe, Hillend Hill and Strandlud Hill and return for a 17k round.jonglew13/01/2022
As LizH (thanks for GR on gates) on pleasant day. Nobody has mentioned the mast so I suspect it is the precursor to the 16/20 wind turbines that planning permission has been given for. Suspect the new route will just bash the access road so good to get done as is.SS06/07/2021
Parked on the verge just before the farm gates, at NS59019 10926. Up the road to just before the burn runs under the road, and through the gate (NS59225 01651). Along the field to another gate at NS59019 10531, crossing a narrow field to exit the gate opposite. Across this field, through gate (NS58625 10197), up alongside wall and through gate (NS58633 09951) out onto open hillside, following vehicle tracks up and round the remaining field, then a mix of vehicle and animal tracks to the summit. A bit of a plod, but compensated by good views out to Ailsa Craig, Arran and hills further west.LizH30/08/2020
As chrisbien. Parked on wide grass verge above Burnside at NS 5918 1075 - Up track & immediately after crossing bridge just before sheepfold turned right & along ATV track to gate at 586102 - Over gate & S. alongside wall to another gate - Over gate & then ATV track over Blarene; continued on track to 580088 - Forked left & up faint track over Benty Gowan; from Benty Gowan good track over High Chancy; followed this to within 150m or so of the summit trig point. 4th Hill of 6 before the long drive back to Nottingham. 1st Meikle hill out and back from the Quarry then Prickeny and Wee Benbrack from the end of an overgrown but still driveable track then I parked up next to a Yellow 1st Aid portacabin and took the track that heads to the West of Logan Hill but took the forest ride NE then ENE to emerge from the forest, once over the fence a fairly easy walk up this grazed landscape to the Trig Pillar...Next up Hillend Hill via Blackstone Hill...Dazingdale22/04/2019
Out and back by Chrisbien route from Burnside.Eddie28/09/2017
After 5Ds to SW. From Enoch Hill towards Peat Hill (to N) good ATV via gate at NS 555083. Assume this continues to B741 between Polmathburn Bridge and Maneightcarole engel13/09/2016

Chrisbien route from Burnside worked well, parked well up the minor road to Brockloch, easy ground or path almost all the way.alda02/06/2016
windy standard, wee benbrack, prickeny hill, enoch hill ACW from 517081 B741.robertphillips19/04/2016
Same route as agentmancuso, friendly guard on gate. Puncture within first 100m so decided to walk.cjo20/02/2016
Came up main forest track from substation then along Maneight Road for a short distance before following firebreaks out. Got intercepted by site security at the main gate, some questions & 'advice' but no attempt to restrict movement, and then similar at Meikle Hill quarry site, where I had to sign the visitors' book. All very civil though.agentmancuso21/07/2015
