With Rod from car park near Cramalt up track then out to Dollar Law. Retraced steps then on to Cramalt Craig returning to road via Clockmore. Windy but we got away with it weather wise with only half an hour of rain. | SS | 23/03/2023 |
From the reservoir car park. Up the road to Meggethead, then upon passing the last fence on the N side of the road followed this fence onto the open SE flank of Wylies Hill. From its summit a series of ATV/deer paths give good access to Broad Law. Down to the non-tops of Tods Knowe & Lamb Knowe, then doubled back to the col SE of Polmood Craig to get onto the FP up to Cramalt Craig. The nicest section of the walk was over to Dun Law, Fifescar Knowe & Dollar Law. Returned to Thief's Road, which helps with a quick walk to Notman Law. Then a fence line to Shielhope Head and Greenside Law, including its S Top. A contour round to Rig Head and finally Pykestone Brae. A steep grassy descent to the track below then a seemingly endless walk back along the road to the camper. 6hrs total. | summitter | 05/02/2023 |
A fine Autumn day for a Manor Head round (starting from the Manor Water road near Langhaugh) visiting Black Cleuch Hill, Black Law, Black Law S.W. Top, Conscleuch Head, Deer Law, Greenside Law, Greenside Law South Top, Shielhope Head, Notman Law, Fifescar Knowe and Dollar Law. | RobB | 18/10/2022 |
Backpacking 2nd day | Adventurers5 | 13/09/2022 |
Parked at the end of public road, for back of ten, headed straight up Dollar Law, south to Fifescar Knowe, Norman Law, then around to Greenside Law. On the way up Black Law, I decided to contour around the south slope, which was a mistake, to many peat hags.
Conscleuch Head was uninteresting, Deer Law has a nice stone feature for the a summit. I returned back over Conscleuch Head then up Black Law then north to Black Cleuch Hill.
Descended west to rejoin the valley and walk north back up the to road to the car. Sunny all day, 07:50hrs all in. | chillyman8 | 09/07/2022 |
Black Cleuch Hill, Black Law, Greenside Law, Notman Law, Fifescar Knowe and Dollar Law. Long tromp down through the heather and bilberries. | tsharp | 23/06/2022 |
Parking at Megget Reservoir. ATV starts at U-bend (NT195231) up to around back of barn, but fizzles out before it reaches the intake fence. Grass corridors can be linked up, but then the final heathery dome has to be tackled to Clockmore. Summit is bad tussocks and it is rough going to meet faint ATV track at about NT180237. ATV improves up to Cramalt Craig. Good ATV to Dun Law, Fifescar Knowe, Dollar Law, Notman Law, then deteriorates over Shielhope Head, rough going to Lair Knowe, Greenside Law, then fair ATV toward Black Rig, then RoW to Craigierig. | Isbjorn | 04/06/2022 |
From mapped car park to SSE (NT 2013 2296). Pykestone Brae, the 2 Greenside Laws, Shielhope Head, Notman Law and Fifescar Knowe first, then a saunter up to here over good ground. On return picked up mapped stalkers path S of Fifescar Knowe (at NT 1802 2636) for an easy 5k walk out and an overall 14.8k round. | jonglew | 16/04/2022 |
Last Donald for this round on a glorious spring afternoon | Colin Crawford | 23/03/2022 |
Black Law, Greenside Law, Dollar Law, Cramalt Craig, Broad Law, Talla Ceuch Head from Maggot Reservoir. 29km, 1600m ascent, 5hr41min. 8km bike back to car. | Huwel | 11/03/2022 |
With John - parked at Megget Reservoir car park and decided to do the clockwise loop of Broad Law, Cramalt Craig and Dollar Law. Head back along the road to Megget Stone (unimpressed), and then followed the faint path up to Broad Law. Cold and windy up top, but clouds disappeared so got quite warm. Patches of icy snow but mostly good underfoot conditions. Headed straight over to Cramalt Craig from the radio tower, gave the summit a quick tap and moved on to Dollar Law. From there we headed across to ther track down to Cramalt and the back along the road to the car park. Total time 5 hours on the dot (well, 5h 33seconds). | mproudfoot | 27/02/2022 |
It seemed like too nice a day for work, so I drove to Peebles and up the Manor valley to Manorhead. I headed straight up hill following a fence that was an excellent handrail all the way to Dollar Law, Fifescar and return. Cloud came in and I was in cloud with rain and wind from about 600 m upwards. | langskill | 13/09/2021 |

Came up from col with Fifescar Knowe alongside wall and fence to reach trig pillar of Dollar Law. A few more raindrops speeded up a brief lunch taken behind wall. Dropped back SSW to col and turned SE on track going towards Notman Law. First visit to DL was also solo, on 07/07/2015: on that occasion there was a downpour and lunch was decidedly soggy. | jacobus | 25/05/2019 |
