A south to north traverse of the hill on an unusually warm sunny day during a week of rain. With Jill. Beardsley is a lovely island to spend the afternoon on a sunny day. Noisy grey seals heard throughout the visit. Had 2 beers at the farm café before visiting the newly-painted lighthouse.Dangerous Dave17/07/2023

10.30 boat, up past the cafe, along the ridge, then followed path down to Chapel, around to South Coast, around coast past lighthouse back to cafe for an ice cream then back for 3pm boat. 4.4 miles, very leisurely with seal, chough and oystercatcher viewing at lunch. Excellent trip out.JulieB11/06/2023
My last Welsh marilyn! Easy paced tour of the island with Steve G after short notice booking secured slots on the 11:30 ferry (16:30 return). Selkies were in good voice, particularly around the southern shoreline.Smudge17/09/2022
On 11.30 boat to island, up past cafe on good track to top. Then had good wander around island before return trip. Great views back to mainland.PeterD15/08/2022
Loved trip over to Bardsey island off Gwynedd. Fantastic day, beautiful views, lovely wee hill. Managed to meandor the length of the island within the allotted four hours. Worth sitting on top of the hill just to take it all in. Plenty of wild flowers. With Gmac xelizyanne11/07/2022
Hot day but glorious views. On the boat trip with Colin and the rather lovely Lauren. A very special place.David Bremner19/07/2021
I was due to visit Bardsey over thirty years ago as part of an RSPB bird-ringing team, but instead moved to Scotland to go to university. So was thrilled to make it this time. Great hill, great island, great weather, great Manx shearwaters.summitter27/06/2021
After a morning short walk on Anglesy booked on the 12.30 boat. Easy walking, sunny day and fabulous views.N.Morters20/07/2020

Boat from Porth Meudwy (Colin - £32.50) - interesting way that boat was docked. Very hot weather - on island for 4h. Fine hill with steep E side. Boat stopped for view of puffins, on return journey.ger15/07/2019
After a trip being cancelled four days ago due to weather we made it today in wonderful sunshine. A stroll to the top then various explorations of the other island attractions.NormanW14/07/2019
Walked past the cafe where I made friends with it's dog Moss who showed us the way up the south flank of Mynydd Enlli. Had lunch at the summit in glorious sunshine and amazing views.Moss took us down via the north face to the ruined abbey and other buildings. What a very friendly dog,he wouldn't except monetary payment just a bit of our sandwiches we ate for lunch.mad max18/06/2019
With mad max and Moss the friendly dog from the cafe.ju ju18/06/2019
1/6 Marilyn for the day. A glorious sunny day. Great views in a new area. Great boat ride with Colin with lots of puffins and seals. A splendid walk right around this lovely island. A day to remember.silveracorn_alan07/05/2019
Got the 10:30 ferry from Porth Meudwy (actually went at 10:55 as delayed in order to get gas bottles). Cost £32.50 return. See www.bardseyboattrips.com for details. We still got 4 hours on the island as we left at 15:15. On the way back we stopped to look at the seabirds.Alan Moore02/05/2019
A steeper walk than you might think. Amazing array of birdlife from the top.cjwilliams18/04/2019
Lovely sunny day. Went to Lighthouse first, then walked along to toilets then followed path straight up to summit. Descended along ridge back to boat. With Sarah, Seumas and Sarah’s Dad.assynt_bob30/06/2018
Got a lift over in Colin’s boat, bagged lighthouse then wandered up to summit with Daddy, Mummy and Granddad. Got Smarties at top :-) Nice sunny hill. I was tired on way back and fell asleep on Colin’s boat. Good day out.Seumas Kerr30/06/2018
#647 Day trip from Manchester. Previous attempts had been thwarted by weather so when I saw a window I went for it. How was I to know the window would be open for three weeks! With Creakinghiker.tim74725/06/2018

A mad month haring around the UK and bringing it to a close with an early morning drive from Stafford to catch Colins 10:30 boat across to the wonderful world of Ynys Enlli. A bit choppy on the way out but a fine blue sky day. Superb views, more seals than you could shake a seal finger at and to cap off the trip a pod of porpoise. A memorable trip with KBEstig_nest30/03/2018
A lucky trip with Twice Shy (aka Alex C). First the trip was dubious, then it was on for 9.00, then on but an 8.00 start with only 15 minutes on the island, because of rough seas forecast later. We got to Porth Meudwy before 8 am, and Colin kindly agreed we could have an hour on the island. Yay! We skipped up the hill and back down in about 50 minutes. Nice!Gill09/03/2018
Just as lucky as my first visit to Bardsey Island. This time we managed to wrangle passage for enough time to leisurely bag the top whilst Colin did some quick maintenance on the lighthouse. There and back across the water v.sharpish to enable us to get up two more M's by lunchtime. Hopefully not my last visit to Ynys Enlli any way :).Twice Shy09/03/2018
Went over on the landing craft on an ad hoc visit. Several good tracks lead up.jonglew09/10/2017
Travelled by 10:30 boat with Colin on a perfect day. Puffins, razorbills and cough seen.Lionel Bidwell17/07/2017
With Trefor. Over on the 11:30 ferry. Easy walk to summit then looked around the island. Very interesting. Back on the 4:00 ferry in time to bag 2 more Marilyns before dark. Summit is a great viewpoint.mike.hoult06/04/2017
With K, M and Phil. Went over with Colin as described below although price now £30 per person. Saw Puffin and Chough. A wonderful day.Ashley19/07/2016
A great day with JT. We went over with Colin Evans via the Gwylan islands to look at the sea birds. A beautiful sunny day but quite breezy. It was windy on the top of the hill and the return journey was choppy and wet. Ny Welsh Marilyn completion.Sprog01/06/2016
Glorious day after early rain, on a day trip from Yorkshire. Everyone on the boat/island was a Welsh speaker apart from me. £30 return. Up the hill then round the island. Lovely peaceful spot. Lot of seals slobbing about on the beach.Aye Jimmy17/04/2016
An excellent day trip with Colin the Boatman as mentioned in previous logs. We were blessed with a clear and calm day so had splendid views. After a pot of tea, walked up the hill, then round the island and found the cache. Seals and their pups were lovely.Father Ted09/10/2015
With Jenx from Port Meundy with Colin as referred to by others. Fantastic trip, a real super SIB. Great day out.nordicstar01/07/2015

Along with 11 other >65 year olds on Colin Evans' boat from Port Meduay. Sad that cloud base was 120m but enjoyed the 4 hours exploring an island I wouldn't have thought about but for MarilynThearlaichdubh24/06/2015

One of 2 days in the week calm enough for Colin to takes us across to Ynys Enlli. Lovely to go up its mountain, then back round the island. We passed fields farmed by Colin, enthusiastically foraged by Choughs. A great day out with my brother who was very keen to do this as he was aiming to complete the Welsh Marilyns. Sunshine and breeze.pwheeler18/09/2013

Short 20 minute boat trip with Colin Evans, 07971769895, to allow over 4 hours on this splendid island. I drove down from Preston with Paul Webster for the 09:30 boat.Dugswell208/09/2012
It made me very, very happy to get over here today on this fine August afternoon. Especially so as my original pre-booked morning boat from Pwllheli was called off at the last hour. Many thanks are due though to the helpful lady in the tourist office who made the trip still go ahead for me by contacting the Aberdaron boatman, who, at short notice, arranged for a 4x4 to await my arrival at the bus stop in the village and then whisk me swiftly over to Porth Meudwy, just in time for the day's second sailing.Alex C02/08/2011

Took the path up the south ridge (not shown on maps) to obvious summit rocky outcrop. Descended on north ridge path (again not shown on maps) to church & ruined abbey. A great hill to finish on but I've plenty left!David Gradwell26/07/2011
