6th top of 11 on a 24km traverse from the A4085 junction with Beddgelert forest at Pont Cae gors, continuing after lunch at Moel yr Ogof then the steep climb up to the Trig point. Summit area in cloud and very windy. I visited the Cairn before descending South/Se to Bryn Banog... | Dazingdale | 28/09/2023 |
From Beddgelert direct ascent. The top of the path is well cairned but still needs careful attention in poor visibility. Climbed in cloud and high wind. Descent from Bwlch Meillionoen which is a lovely walk back through the forest. With K. | sebastiencale | 19/08/2023 |

Walked up Hebog from Beddgelert, then along the tops to Moel Lefn. There is a clear path continuing on to Cwm Twrysgl and then the footpath is fairly well marked but boggy back into the woodland, down to the railway line and back to Beddgelert. | andrewroberts | 03/04/2023 |
Parked at Beddgelert and tried to follow the Trail Magazine June 17 route, up the promontory, but found this difficult with no discernible paths. Struggled through the tall ferns and then followed a random walker to the top. Descent following the route was much simpler. | gbeniston | 23/09/2022 |
Jon's 40th birthday weekend, with a big group. UTS100 trail run in progress over the ridge. | Grinner | 02/07/2022 |
Parked in the Berddgelert carpark. Followed the footpath up. The path is fine at first but then is unclear. If you find yourself freeclimbing, then you've lost the path. It's a fairly steep scramble to the summit. Cold and hail. | Skarletk | 10/02/2022 |
Up 'tourist route' from Beddgelert | KeithByTheC | 21/07/2021 |
Parked at the end of Cwm Pennant and followed the ROW as far as the base of Y Gyrn, scrambling over loose slate to the summit. The section over to Castell was equally challenging on rough terrain, but did at least enable a reasonable ascent up the NE flank of Moel Lefn. It was straightforward from here, along a well worn ridge path over Moel yr Ogof, Moel Hebog, and a slightly less well defined path to Bryn Banog. The subsequent descent to the old slate quarries below added historical interest and a sense of what former times around these parts meant for the working quarryman. The ROW to Tyddyn-mawr was boggy in places, but the great wee cafe in the cottage at the end of this former quarry path gave ample time to rest soggy feet and recharge the batteries. The walk back up Cwm Pennant is fabulous if you stick to the former quarry track route (black dashed line on 1:50,000 OS Map). 6.5 hrs. | summitter | 26/06/2021 |

with GmacT. Hot day. Walked along by railway line which we crossed three times. Left fellow walkers at the gate in dyke. Once at rocks be sure to keep a close eye on path. Watched a family scramble down a precarious route. Wide grassy top with great views | elizyanne | 23/07/2019 |

Moel Hebog, Moel yr Ogof and Moel Lefn descending through forest. | noxibis | 19/04/2019 |
8.2 mile circular from middle of 3 roads in Cwm Pennant, followed fairly non-existent path through farmland to access land then ascended through Cwm Llefrith to col, very steep there and back onto Moel Hebog following trail by wall, afterwards followed nice trail over Moel Yr Ogof and Moel Lefn, rocky in places, descended to foot of Y Gyrn into the old mining area west then followed sketchy footpaths through Cwm Pennant back to car. Hot and sunny but quite hazy so could only just make out the outlines of Snowdon, Crib Goch, Cnicht and Moelwyn Mawr but couldn't see much further, a few people about. Earlier that day bagged Moel-Y-Gest in even hazier weather. | DanTrig | 17/04/2019 |

From CP near rail station in Beddgelert - along Rhyd-Ddu path, then leaving this for the hill path which in its lower part goes through bracken. Higher up various branches of the path weave through the crags (some optional scrambling), then on to the grassy summit. Nice mountain walk with good summit views of sea & mountain. | ger | 18/07/2018 |
