Made the mistake of ascending from the pull-in at 914243. Boggy and peat hagged climb. Descended SW to 912250. A much quicker and virtually grass all the way route.Rob Rees14/02/2024
Parked at Bwlch y Groes. Up fence to begin then trod and Heather to M Eunant. Cross country to fence near Carreg Clap. East to stream and Heather bash to Cefn Coch. More Heather and bilberry bashing to Foel TyF. Down fence to Carreg clap then found succession of thin trods to the summit of M y Cerrig. Down fence to the car.Moorponder06/07/2023
Parked at the end of the public road at SH 913 303. Followed GB's splendid route up the forest road, then a short ascent by the old fence posts at up ride/stream from SH 908 292 to the open ridge. Then nice walk along the ridge visiting Lledwyn Mawr, Foel Figenau to Cefn Coch; then a tough section through the heather to Foel Tyn-y-fron. Return retraced route, skirting Foel Figenau on south side, and then into the wood at the kink NE of Moel Cerigduon, along a channel between two rows of trees to the forest road. 16km with 660m ascent, taking me 5h 30m.silveracorn_alan08/04/2023
From Llanuwchllyn for a round of Foel Tyn-y-fron, Cefn Coch, Foel Figenau and Lledwyn Mawr.rhalstead08/01/2023
14.25 miles 2332ft walk. Foel-Y-Groes, Moel-Y-Cerrig Duon, Foel Tyn-Y-Fron and Cefn Coch.stephenbuda03/06/2022
Just enough daylight left after doing the three summits to the west. Parking no easy, parked at the start of the very steep track to west of summit. Left with handbrake on, in reverse gear and chockstone under wheel. No sign of track being used by vehicles and there would be just about enough room for an ATV to squeeze past me. Up the good track to its end then pathless line directly to summit plateau which is fairly featureless. Three contenders for high point so did them all, not marked in any way. From 545 car park. Over Moel y Cerrig duo after which paths cease. Rough going.Campbell Singer22/06/2021
From the side of the track (91230 30341) near Fedw and used the tracks to reach the fire break which leads onto open hillside, Lledwyn Mawr, round to foel Figenau and then a rather tedious heather bash to Cefn Coch and Foel Tyn y fron. Had to retrace my steps all the way back as I could not locate a forest track that would have made a loop of the walk. Five and a quarter hours for Nine and three quarter mile.WAYNE ROWLETT19/06/2021
From the bwlch. With B and Rjenx14/12/2020
From the west: parked by waterfall just north of zigzag track. Up track then grass and tussock to Foel Tyn-y-fron, then rough ground to Cefn Coch. Used old track from Bwlch y Pawl around hillside: goes most of the way back to the corner in the zigzag track.PGCE13/08/2020
From Moel y Cerrig Duon descended NNE to the col below Foel Tyn-y-fron and then followed the broad SSW ridge of this hill to the unmarked summit. The vegetation was absolutely diabolical, big tussocks and thick heather with hidden watercourses. We fell in a number of holes up to our knees, that were full of icy water. Walk continued to Cefn Coch. With JT.Sprog05/05/2019
From parking at SH914244 took the S ridge - grass most of the way - the given summit GR seemed about right.Chris Peart01/10/2018
From Moel y Cerrig Duon then back to road summit by more tussock. Visited any all and any suspect high bits in the lank grass and on the peat haggs.Eddie22/08/2018

Parked on the minor road close to the bend at 914244. Took just over 1 hour in 65 minutes with GB. Underfoot not bad if you stick to the high parts.bolton30/10/2015
Room for 1 car at SH91393 24300 - Walked down to bend in road & then up short track for about 80m - NNE across moor for about 1.5km to summit which is marked by a sunken fence post & a couple of stones. (PM)gerrybowes30/10/2015
Anti-clockwise round of the four Deweys. 8 miles and almost all off path including a lot of heather/bilberry bashing. 3 1/2 hours.clivevilla12/08/2015
Parking possible by Rhyd-y-bod farm. Lledwyn Mawr, Foel Figenau, Cefn Coch (plenty of rough pathless heather) Foel Tyn-y-fron (relentless pathless heather) Moel Maes-y-llech (right of way through forest is obliterated but was able to detour through new plantation to SW as far as track then over felled section to point where public right of way emerges from the forest).ijpowell16/07/2015

Useful parking spot at SH914244. Straight up from there, across tolerable moor. Several summit contenders visited. Heavy rain never relented.Colin Crawford11/03/2015
From Llanuwchllyn over Lledwyn Mawr and Fowl Figenau before hitting the Berwyn heather! Then out to Foel y Geifr before trudging back over Cefn Coch to Foel Tyn-y-fron. The descent was more pleasant!SS08/03/2014
With 3406. Parked to the west - this side of telephone box. Then attempted to gain the track. Lots of chest high ferns. Finally made the forest edge and found the track. Followed track - never found the path on 1:50. Took a straight line to summit 3406 - not too bad. Then took a bearing for 2127 hard going in the 2nd half. Mainly followed the fence all the way to the road - steep in wet conditions.destaylor18/10/2013
Hard through the heather to the summit of Foel Tyn-y-fron from Bwlch y Pawl. Over Cefn Coch, Foel Figenau (steep) and then Lledwyn Mawr. Dropped down to Bryn melyn and back to Coed Tyn-y-fedw to the start point at SH 90249 26527.MikeM04/05/2012
superb linear walk aross some very rough area, route started at llanymawddwy & up the side of the waterfall to pen yr allt uchaf, then wound its way over numerous tops to the bwlch y groes.then on to another two tops and ending up at Rhiwargor falls. this summit all peat & heather.stig_nest16/07/2008
start~ 946274. Climbed Foel y Geifr first then cut across the tops to Cefn Coch and Cefn Goch. Not recomended, death by heather!steve hudson11/06/2008
Faint path by stream and plod over moor and swamp to wire fence on horizon. Threw Arran over. Visited 2 0r 3 heather domes vying for high point. 14.00.arranc29/03/2002
