Out and Back from Dinas Mawddwy, Maesglase (old GR) / Maen Du - Maesglase - Craig Portas - Cribin Fawr - Waun-oer. With R+R.Dan Baddeley11/11/2023
From overnighter up Foel Dinas via waterfall. Hottest day of the year- was certainly warming up by the time we arrived at top. Dumped packs & out & backed to Craig Rhiw Erch. Returned to DM via the initially very steep NE ridge.stig_nest09/09/2023
9.8 miles 3086ft walk ,start at A470 viewpoint carpark. to Cribin Fawr, Waun-oer, Craig Portas, Maesglase and Maen Du.stephenbuda02/07/2023
A pleasant enough clockwise round of the fells above Aberllefenni made a little more exciting by my having difficulty in finding a clear route into Cwm Ratgoed.oldbagger2717/06/2023
Cambrian Way Stage 14 Dinas Mawddwy - Bwlch Llyn Bach.Rob Rees12/11/2022
From mapped roadside parking area to NNE (SH 8021 1702). Good track leads up to Cribin Fawr first, then a divert across to Waun-oer before getting back on track to Craig Portas, its E Top, Maesglase and then across to here. Took a steep descent NW down to Penantigi Uchaf to ascend Camlan as a final hill of the day.jonglew16/10/2022
Brief visit to E summit after west HP for Barry's final Welsh Marilyn. Levelish grass before descent down NW ridge to road- nice grassy descent, with stream crossing over fallen tree. Repeat.Denise 16/10/2022
As Jonglew for Barry last welsh Marilyn. Party of 12. Started at carpark at head of pass finished by decending to east were a car was used to transport back to start. The descent down steep ridge has been used as an extreme downhill mountainbike route with big dropoffs jumps and high death factor at start.cjo16/10/2022

Afternoon hike with my brother and his 3 children in >25° heat. Descended to Dolobran. ~11Km with 790m ascent.VirtualMountain17/07/2021

Maesglase & Maen Du - Dyfi Hills. Parked on A470 large lay-by at SH 82643 16350 at Pont Buarth-Glas. SE over rickety fence onto hillside and followed the W side of the stream cutting through the LHS of Craig Buarth-Glas, extremely steep requiring lots of pulling on vegetation, collapsing ledges and loose rock, exciting. Up to fence and Moel cwm yr Eglwys then ridge and path to Maen Du and fence to Maesglase summit. Descended NW spur of Maen Du to around 450m then steeply down bracken and grass to cross Nant y Cae at 270m and easy pastures to gate onto A470 just W of lay-by. A really impressive mountain, tough from the north with sustained slopes of 45 degrees.jacobrichmond22/11/2020

Nuttall Walk WN 10.3 West of Dinas Mawddwy from Aberllefenni. Mynydd Ceiswyn, Waun-oer, Cribin Fawr, Craig Portas and Maesglase. 20.4km with 1170m ascent in 7h15m. (S)silveracorn_alan29/03/2016
Clearly lower than main Nuttal summit. Heavy morning rain slow to clear replaced by gradually clearing skies with good visibility. Strong wind became stronger almost blowing me off my feet on many occasions. Parked in car park near 363m spot height on A470. Cribin Fawr->Waun-oer->Craig Portas->Craig Portas East Top->Maesglase->Maesglase (old GR) - Maen Du. Only 7.83 miles but comparatively a lot of ascent at 964m. No wonder felt tired on final walk back to van along A470 from Penantigi Isaf. Better to park near milepost to reduce final walk back to van.mntainman09/03/2016
Small roadside parking area on A470 at SH84778 15496 (Space for 2 cars) – Up lane opposite for about 800m & then followed waymarked path up to col by top corner of forest (828135) – NW up path alongside fence & after doing the East Top of Craig Portas did the Marilyn on Maesglase as well as Mean Du.
