Followed track from north almost to top then easily up. Back via trig on Fan Bwlch Chwyth. Good ATV track.PeterD25/10/2023
A walk in the Brecon Beacons which took in Carreg Cadno 538m, Fan Gyhirych 726m, Fan Nedd 663m, Yr Allt 605m, Fan Bwlch Chwyth 603m and Fan Fraith 668m. Not a great forecast but clear summits until Yr Allt which were the important ones, and only rain on the last one. Some great views and scenery.meltdiceburg18/10/2023
With Lesley, fine dayNick Canute08/02/2023
From the north. Excellent if unexciting track to within 300m, then tussocks. Inquisitive cattle en route but no bother.Campbell Singer06/01/2023
From the track end at SN896223. Up track to Bwlch y Duwynt, then down to boggy col to take in Fan Ned; retraced steps and followed Cambrian Way back to track, before bagging Fan Fraith and Gan Gyhirych. Descended ENE ridge above the steep slopes back to Bwlch y Duwynt. Took in the Simm of Yr Allt, then quickly back down the track where a freezing blast of shower got me rather wet.Rockdoctor29/12/2022

A beautiful winter walking day, sunny most of day and frozen ground made for easy going. From Devil's elbow up the good path and cut across on path following fence to bwlch and round to Yr Allt. then back round to Fan Nedd via the cairn. Dropped down more or less due east to road at point where track joins and then easily straight up to cairn and along ridge to very small summit cairn. Dropped down north and west to car park with no path but no problems either.dickscroop29/11/2021

Fan Bwlch Chwyth, Yr Allt, Fan Fraith a Fan Gyhirych.sionbrit29/11/2020
Took the stony track across Y Gelli from the north. Gets pretty close to the summit of Fan Gyhirych, a good peat path softening the final 500m or so. Then popped over to Fan Fraith, extended dry conditions making the otherwise boggy crossing a doddle. Then the rather more testing ascent of Fan Nedd, doubling back to bag the easier tops of Yr Allt and Fan Bwlch Chwyth, a helpful peaty path making the going good to firm.summitter21/09/2020
Long track in from north east. Fan Fraith, Fan Gyhirych, Ayr Allt, and out to trig before descending back to road. With B and R.jenx17/09/2020

Parked at bottom of forest track (SN896 222). Circular walk bagging Fan Gyhirych, Fan Fraith, Yr Allt and Fan Bulch Chwyth.Ramblingpaul23/08/2018
From SN925184. Fan Nedd, Yr Allt and Fan Bwlch Chwyth, with Megs and Xan. Lovely clear day but very cold wind. The Yr Allt to FBC bit wasn't as rough as I'd been led to believe. There are faint paths most of the way and it's damp rather than boggy. Perhaps a bit tougher for 10 and 7 year old legs - M and X were fairly knackered by the time we arrived at the final summit. Many pools containing frog spawn, some dried out already and many clumps of spawn probably ice damaged.Herbert Anchovy05/04/2018
Fan Nedd, Yr Allt, Fan Gyhirych and Fan Fraith from Maen Lila, foggy but not lost!Fred Windsor26/10/2017

After leaving Fan Bwlch Chywth. Little visibility, slushy snow but clear route as far as wall/fence then onto 592 bump. From there the route disappeared into knee deep snow and heading east towards the fenced took me into a nasty bog hidden under the snow. Slow going. Glad to get to the summit. No visibility there. Continued on to Bwlch y Duwynt and picked up the track for much easier going round Fan Gyhirych then down to Penwyllt.thesweetcheat14/01/2017
From Fan Bwlch Chwyth. Return to minor road NNE mainly on wide vehicle access track. Small cairn has gone, just a flat rock sitting on a cropped-grass mound.jonglew07/09/2016

From layby on A4067 with disused bridge to Fan Bwlch Chwyth, Yr Allt, Fan Fraith and Fan Gyhirych on a sunny early spring day. Lots of tussock-hopping involved. Only saw 3 other people on entire 10 mile walk.clyoung13/03/2016

2264 and 3679. Easy parking at beginning of track at Cnewr. Followed track then on to summit of 2264. Then good path to 3679. Then took fairly direct descent with very little by way of paths. Longish grass. Fine walk apart from the descent.destaylor12/10/2015
Walked on a round of Yr Allt, Moel Feity and Cefn Cul. Parked in the layby at SN 87739 20244. Walked NE on A4067 to pick up tram way at SN 88088 20587. Followed tramway to where it crosses Nant Gihirych and then walked E keeping forest on right. Came out on track above forest at SN 90190 20842 and then to top of Yr Allt. Walked back to track and left it where it does a S bend and crossed moorland to SN 89247 81854. Followed track down to A4067. Crossed to Cray reservoir and followed track to Blaencrai. Used field path to Cwm Padest then road to Cwnnenynydd. Turned L and followed track up to sheep pens and crossed moor to road. Out and back to Moel Feity. Then across moor and up to top of Cefn Cul. Followed track and eventually walls down to SN 87116 19657. Followed old railway bed NE back to layby. Route follows a mixture of sheep trods, tracks, some vague, and moorland walking. Good views of Fan Gyhirych, Fan Hir and Fan Byrcheiniog. Quite a few barbed wire fences to negotiate.MikeM25/07/2015
