September 23 Heatwave week- breaking all records. High 20s today. With L long easy fun scramble in boots up the ravine of Crinkle Gill - frequent dunking of my shirt & hat to keep cool. 27 yrs ago I last scrambled up it when frozen with ice axes! Steep ascent out of the beautiful craggy corrie up to the main Crinkles ridge at Mickledore. Over all the Crinkle tops (of which there are many) and down The Band. Good clear view of the complex terrain to the west where Darren and I had debacle finding a control on the OMM last year in driving rain and cloud as I misread the control location! Found by chance on knoll top after we had given up looking below at crag foot on nasty slope above a ravine; then followed a brakes off run down grass above Hell Gill to Langdale. Today ambled in the stifling heat down the Band path.Chris Pearson07/09/2023

With Jus, Cat & Jim. Loop from Langdale, up the band, across Crinkle Crags, down to Cold Pike and back down via Red Tarn and Oxendale. Tough going given that we were all either injured, ill or exhausted! However, a glorious day enjoyed by all, with amazing weather for October. Loved bagging a hill every few hundred feet on the crinkles!wheresthepath02/10/2022

Another trip to the Lakes, this time with eyes on some of the southern central fells. Bethany and I had been recommended Crinkle Crags by an Uncle for a decent fells, good veiws and recent footfall - he wasnt' wrong, we saw maybe 3 other groups in total during the day. It was an almost overcast day, but warm enough. Starting from Great Langdale, we took the path up along Owendale Beck, with a stop by a fairy pool, and a lie down on the grass towards the top. Up top was chilly, with some fun small scrambles, after bagging the Shelter crags and all 5 Crinkles, we decended down the over Great Knott, and back to Oxendale west of Pike O'Blisco. 5hrs 30mins: 11.1km; 888mByronHaywood29/04/2017
