From Honister Crag; my inept routefinding in the clag meant I took in the quarry and a rather wet fording experience before I made it to the top. Innominate tarn was beautiful though.Richard23/03/2023

THE LAST ONE – Getting up at 4am we headed off for a life changing day. We blasted our original iPhone paylist all the way to Gatesgarth Car park. At the car park we struggled to get £4 together but coppered up and parked in the perfect place. After setting off and a pied wagtail mugged me off it was heads down and up we went. After a quick water stop half way up using the filter I put the ring in my pocket. We carried on on the fun scrambles up to the summit. We first headed to the highest point before making our way to the Wainwright summit. We touched the top together to complete this adventure. On the top I mentioned starting a longer adventure and ask Bec to marry me. We made our way down the side of Fleetwith Pike for a week of celebrating across the lakes and in York for the weekend.WE DID IT!!!!!Scotty 2 Hotty21/06/2021

11.1 mile walk from Honister Pass. Followed good path towards Green Gable with a brief diversion onto Brandreth's Summit then followed path onto Green Gable, then followed horrible scree-covered path down to Windy Gap col. From here ascending Great Gable over rocks and boulders to summit. Had the top to ourselves, it was only about 9.30am though. From Great Gable we descended path back to Windy Gap and followed Moses's Trod towards Haystacks following trail near Seavey Knott to summit. From summit we followed main path by Little Round How and then followed hard-to-find trail onto Fleetwith Pike, descending back to Honister and car. 1186m ascent. Clear with high cloud cover, amazing views. Saw quite a lot of people on Haystacks, not many others elsewhere!DanTrig15/06/2021
Parked the night on Wed 19th in Honister slate mines car park. As grim rainy forecast blowing in from noon-ish, hyper early start at 5.30. Even at my slow pace reckoned is get round a triangle of Fleetwith Pike, Haystacks 'n Brandreth in about 6 hours. rains arrived early about 10.30. Got well soaked in the last hour.vegibagger20/05/2021

With Sarah Evans, sunny day turning cloudy as day progressed, snow on high peaks including a dusting on Haystacks. Parked at Gatesgarth Farm, ascended via Scarth Gap Pass, onto summit, via tarns, along to just below Dubs Quarry, to descend alongside Warnscale Beck/ waterfall and into Warnscale Bottom using old mine path. Very cold and windy on the top, with definite wind chill factor, however stunning views. Haystacks is essentially a big chunk of rock with no defined summit, due to its rocky, craggy nature. I'm not sure I understand its appeal and I wont be rushing to do it again. However maybe a second explore on a warmer day may change my mind.Ruth Mackay27/03/2021
