Seemed to be a raised, brambly area behind the vicarage. Tried the doorbell to ask for permission but no one inVulcan30/09/2023
Parked in church's large car at SJ 92840 40370. Giving the vicarage a wide berth, headed S. & then W. over longish grass to large patch of nettles & a few trees - Through nettles to some banking, beyond which the ground falls away to wire fence corner & woodland.gerrybowes04/06/2023
Visited along with Meir Heath. Like a lots of these ua tops, pretty underwhelming but in this case easy to include!Dazingdale25/02/2023
thrash thru the brambles.Andrew Pearson07/07/2022
Pulled into large church car park and walked over to the vicarage. The boundary seems to be the demolished garden fence. Walked over it and down the bracken-covered bank in woodland. Luckily nobody about. Solo.Dangerous Dave03/02/2022
From Meir Heath via the lawn.Wycombe Wanderer17/10/2021
Street parking by ST Francis church and then walked into the grounds, I am not sure they allow the use of their car park for the worship of hill bagging so I did not push my luck.WAYNE ROWLETT07/06/2020
Meir Heath Tump & CoU on way home from The Roaches, passed a dozen times, parked & walked round both, lovely day up roaches cool dry & full sunshine..apricorum06/02/2020
14 of 15 on 45 mile bike ride. Into church car park and quick ride around a few high looking points before moving on. Pitch black nowThe-Z-Man31/12/2019
Parked in St. Francis' church car park. Walked around north and west side of vicarage through nettles and brambles ending up on bank behind vicarage, which seems to be on the Unitary Authority border. Continued round vicarage to the south and back to van.mntainman14/11/2019
On own. Parked in large empty church car park and walked round back of vicarage . There seems to be a small earthbank amongst the nettles and possible hp but GPS indicated a few more metres so over fence into small clearing and hp.Beeliner02/10/2019
With my dad.TLBW17/04/2019
Parked in church car park. Walked to highest point, got back in car. Not much else to say. Walked with Toby.Wheelsy17/04/2019
Church grounds of St Francis of Assisi, who is the patron saint of animals after befriending a fearsome wolf, so hopefully visiting baggers should be protected from anything lurking in the undergrowth when venturing into the scrubby wood edge to the boundary high point. I suspect this top has occasional inadvertent visitors who cant slow down in time after crossing the finishing line of the running track marked out in the field alongside the vicarage.Chris Pearson06/04/2019
From St Francis Ch CP. Took a walk along the ridge out back of the church, quite overgrown even for March, will be nasty later in the year.jonglew28/03/2019
On way to Stone Dominoes Vs Stone Old Alleynians. (0-4).Longwojo26/02/2019
I walked over after gathering the required information at the church for a geocache.Alancache31/01/2019
Had a walk around church yard and into wood at end. Not my favourite type of hill.Ramblingpaul15/10/2018
The church largely obscures what appears to be quite a decent view. Pulled into car park of church and had a walk about.jedthehumanoid21/09/2018

Parked in empty car park on Remembrance Sunday morning. Dare say it was busier a couple of hours later. Hp seems to be to left of manse.Campbell Singer12/11/2017
Plenty of short term parking. Short walk to hp past St Francis church and manse in well maintained grounds.Barbara Singer12/11/2017
Met helpful playgroup organiser who gave a guided tour of the delightful church and the private garden of remembrance (with stunning view over SoT). Access path to L of church seemed as high but lacked the viewpoint.Moorponder10/08/2017
Parked on road, (deserted church carpark forbade parking). Went behind manse on left.David Evans05/11/2016
My gadget said that the GR given is beyond the fence in the ferns but I went to the corner of the grass area as described too.clivevilla22/07/2016
A motorway stop off. Plenty of parking this evening.rhalstead02/05/2016
Easter Sunday, St Francis's deserted apart from car outside the rectory! Maybe the heavy hail-showers put them off. Wandered around a bit, highest point vague.Aye Jimmy27/03/2016

Such fun.. from church. As near to god as you can get in Stoke. Hopped over the fence and went for an explore. Theres a treehouse of sorts with a rope going up to it..now that doesnt count. But behind the treehouse over the fence again theres a strip of land which is probably garden..but is disused. I got a read of 252m but was more likely 248m as this is what the gps sat stable at. Theres a garden pergola type structure which i believe sits at the absolute top. But as there was no cover for this i didnt venture further.stig_nest21/12/2015

Nondescript location. Approached from church car park as others have suggested.Newton Maximus28/06/2013
Easy to find and very picturesque with a small layer of snow. No access issues as I arrived 10 minutes after the start of the morning service!JohnStoneham10/03/2013
Easy bag from CP in front of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Round side of rectory, nicely mown grass.nordicstar26/07/2012
Parked on the road, then a quick walk through the church car park. Dark and misty when I arrived. The Team19/11/2011
Parked in church car park then around the back by the 'sports field.'destaylor29/05/2011
Thanks to St Francis X (& Simon Irons) for an easy route to the nettle-topped mound! Felt a spot near the rounders pitch could have been higher.signyred25/05/2011
Strolled up from the train station at Blythe Bridge. Bagged as many possible summit candidates on and around the road and water tower as I could. Rewarded by a fantastic view of the Wrekin from the nature reserve!DanHolme28/04/2011
As Simon directs on a dry grey day bagging some HuMPs.Dugswell231/10/2010
No unauthorised parking in church car park, so park out on road. Behind vicarage on boundary between grassed area and bracken/scrubland, but ask permission to visit.PeteF21/10/2010
Poor summit. My vote for the top is to park at the (Catholic not Methodist) church car park. Go around the left hand side of the rectory where there is a big grassed area and in the trees at the back is a ridge that seems higher than the surroundings.simon and co06/04/2010
via Church Car Park. Not a lot else to say about itheavyhorses24/03/2010
Got as close as possible at back of Church. One of those Unitary Tops that makes you want to give up the chase...wheresthepath20/04/2009
Parked in the Methodist Chruch large car park and accessed the scrub land behind the church. High point may be behind what is probably the manse. Feint paths and probably lots of bracken in summer.Father Ted29/03/2009
