Parked at Balvraid Farm at end of public road. Walked along track up the glen. I had seen reports that the footbridge across the Ghlinne Bhig river was closed so looked for place to cross further down stream. River level was low due to recent very dry spell so no problems there. Crossed where the electricity pylon lines cross and followed the line of these onto the shoulder of the main ridge. There was a wobbly old deer fence to cross just above the river bank but on way back found an open gate in the fence beside a single tree on the hill side of the fence. Easy ascent along ridge which has a path for the most part all the way to the summit. Returned by same route.Jossker09/06/2023
From Beinn Sgritheall NW Top. More cloud in the sky than of late, keeping me cool and casting scenery enhancing shadows on the hills. Rocky knolls and lochans. On to West Top.Wycombe Wanderer05/06/2023
Cycled from Moyle campsite to 'Danger Bridge'; up and down ridge; back via new brewery beside broch and Glenelg. Bridge is still intact and easily crossable. There is now a good track all the way through from near Suardalan though it has a locked gate.daviemore30/05/2023
Parked at Balvraid farm where there is a very welcoming sign saying You Can Park Here. Over the unsafe bridge then a pleasant ridge walk to the summit. With Jill, Phil & Chris.Dangerous Dave21/05/2023

Parked at Balvraid farm where there is a sign saying parking is allowed. Went over the dodgy bridge at 866158. A misty climb up one of the highest Grahams. Just over 8 miles return with Dangerous Dave, Gill R and CM.bolton21/05/2023
Signed parking spot beside Balvraid farmhouse. Up via E side Srath a' Chomair & along S side next wood then up to ridge. Descended W from 742m pt. Lot of wood has been cut down so took short cut from approx 826169 down to track junction.duchally29/07/2022
The route up as in SMC Grahams guide, but back the same way. The footbridge was hard to find, and when I found it, there was a notice saying Danger do not cross. It was lopsided, but passable with care.IanHHill12/09/2021
As per SMC route. Parked at Balvraid (asked permission - granted). On hillside, possible stalkers or deer path virtually all way up east ridge. Despite lowish dry grass, ticks galore.willyross01/09/2021
From the end of the road in Gleann Beag, with Hannah, Vicky & Jon. Bridge mentioned in SMC book was out, but able to cross river lower down as water level low.Grinner31/08/2021
A fabulous walk from Balvraid, along the track and the wobbly bridge. Easy going the whole way mainly on deer tracks. Such a beautiful, elegant ridge walk I just had to come back the same way. Stunning views despite the rain.Gill21/05/2019
From Balvraid, usual route, 2km or so SW following the river on a good 'road', over the dodgy footbridge and up the ridge. Went on to the W Top, then steep descent on near enough direct line back to the car, a significant reduction in distance, but not for the faint-hearted.jonglew08/05/2019

From Balvraid, blether with farmer then along track to bridge and up ridge. Many false summits. Used deer track most of the way until last climb. Mist and drizzle for last 100m;no views. Descent same route and top clear by time was back at car!MichaelF12/07/2018
From Balvraid, walking E along track to reach bridge then E ridge of Beinn a' Chapuill to summit. Visited other high knolls, then W top. Descended W close to path of stream, then N to descent by end of forest and ford the river (very dry) to reach the road and return to car. Hot sunny day, lots of horse flies.RobertP03/07/2018
From Balvraid. Parking quite limited as I started late. Bridge at NG 86634 15805. Rough climb. You think you’re there but you’re not. False summits abound but the view is well worth it.Campbell Singer27/04/2018

From Balvraid up and down the East ridge, via bridge at 866158.NormanW10/04/2017
Parked at Balvraid. Ascended via east ridge. Circuit of summit plateau. Great views to Kintail, Skye and nearby hills particularly Beinn Sgritheall. Descended along NE ridge from around NG827156 to Cnoc na Moine (see 1:25k map) and two forest rides nearby to north. The forest rides are non existent, however forest not too bad once established within interior - 250m of breaking deadwood branches to reach forestry tracks and return to start point via bridge at NG847163. With Lorraine.raffemeister22/10/2016
From Balvraid, over the nearby bridge, followed old track round to the right then sharp left for about 700 metres until its abrupt end. From there, a nearby gate leads onto the open hillside. From 854154 deer tracks lead steeply up onto the east ridge at 400 metres. Cold wind but excellent view.Topographer5712/10/2016

Post Marhofn 2015, post cold Skye w Jenx. At last a fine weather day. Parked at head of Glen Elg by farm and track up valley, crossing river on path over old suspension bridge. Took the fine East ridge to summits. Higher is the cairned top to the East. Back down the ridge to GR852152 at 400m where a deer worn line can be followed steeply down to river. Deer fence to cross. We'd seen the water was low and an easy crossing was made back to road near farm.nordicstar14/06/2015

From Balvraid. Walked up the glen to footbridge - not immediately noticeable if you are daydreaming, the clue is a wooden tripod. Then long way back on self on ridge all the way to top. Great views of B Sgritheall. Resisted temptatoion to short cut down tMartin R16/02/2012
From Balvraid in new walking trousers. On access road past Dun to a small suspension bridge made out of 4 fir trunks. Muddy path on other side up to grassy ridge near Skye pylons. Deer trods steadily up over 3 or 4 heaves, by-passing 2 rocky towers to sloping plateau to a large lochan. Mist came down and to top at 12.00.arranc12/08/2005
