Parked at the locked Strath Farrar gate. More or less followed the Corbett book route to a frozen summit. Continued round NE and E, and back along an invisible path to Loch na Beiste.Minto15/01/2024
From walkers car park at Inchmore. Along road to power station. Track through woods continues as an ATV track further than on map. Across heather to east side of Cnoc an Duine then up the south ridge to the summit. Ice and snow. With Jill & Minto.Dangerous Dave15/01/2024
From CP at Inchmore. Used the Hydro road past Culligran and followed to the end of road. Hard going followed across heather the topAndrew Simmons24/07/2023
Parked in CP adjacent Milton Cottage NH394406. Used Walkhighlands rounte (not recommended) - Once left track at NH371404, head high bracken till NH 367405, after which path was very overgrown (heather, tussocks) that it continued to be very hard going. Used deer tracks to begin hill ascent from NH361406. Top reached in 4 hours (from CP). Various SIMs visited and used mapped path off Carn na Gabhalach to return to car - much better than outward route. Path indistinct in places but followed mapped line and easy to pick up. Lower down (NH394409) the track turned SW and exited thru' farm at a gate at NH 3937 4059 (not opposite CP but nearer Milton Cottage and bearing a CP sign)carole engel07/07/2023
1 of 8: Parked at the Inchmore gate CP. To Culligran PS and track by the Neaty Burn, then ATV. With Karen.ChrisR26/06/2023
From the gate, behind power station to lower dam, road up to top dam, leave at cairn and atv track. Take track to burn, sharp right up hill before it crosses the burn, stay on it (RHS of the tributary) all the way to the bealaich between BaBA and Creag a'Gharbh-choire. Dry and easy today.iangalbraith26/05/2023
Wilsons Walkers Tomich weekend. Walked with Elaine, Marcia and Alastair. Good approach road/track but brutal wet ATV track and heathery slope.langskill25/03/2023
Clockwise loop with John & Johnny. Parked at the car park just before the locked gate into Strathfarrar, walked along the road until the power station/tunnel and then along the track to Neaty Burn and followed the track up from there. After leving the track, aimed up for the summit and arrived 2h 20mins after leaving the car. From there, headed North to point 835, then NNW to Sgurr a Phollain, then mostly E to Carn Ghabhalach before then following a dscent path (faint at first) south back to the road at the start. Conditions: intermittent rain and clag Total time: 4h 24minmproudfoot12/11/2022
Parked at Inchmore, cycled along Glen Strathfarrar to Culligran Power Station, then along track to Nesty Burn lower dam (NH356403), up new track to upper dam (NH351417), W directly up slopes to Càrn Bàn, NW to col then N over summit of Carn nan Gearran Bàna to Meallan Buidhe, descended ESE to col then up Cùl a' Phollain (helped by old footrack from col upwards) to summit of Sgùrr a' Phollain, S along ridge over its S Top and up to Beinn a' Bhàthaich Àrd, descended initially S, met an old ATV track SW down to near Nesty Burn, dropped down onto the outward track just S of the upper dam, and back to start (7h10m [6h40m from power station])kdbennett27/07/2022
Used car park and walked to Culligran Power Station, followed track up the Neaty Burn, found an ATV track and followed that up to near the cloudy summit. Cloud level about 600m. Thick cloud, wind and slight rain. Returned the same way. Still enjoyed Glen despite the weather.Jhimmy08/06/2022

Standard route out and back from Culligran Power Station. Plenty of parking opposite the track start. On the way up came off the new track at 350m asl, then pathless up rough heather, past the 660m minor top. Mild, humid, dry, cloud base at 600m asl, not as windy as expected. On the way down found an ATV track below the summit heading SSW, which picked up another rough track at 500m asl, which joined the new track at a small cairn at 380m asl; this route was much better.Owen B25/09/2021

DR. Strathfarrar. Inchmore gate CP, Dunmaglass Power Station then path to Beinn a'Bhathaich Ard, spot 835, Sgurr a'Phollain, Carn na Gabhalach, Carn an Sgoltaidh & Inchmore. Breezy 7 fine but cold & overcast with showers after spot 855m.Vin15/06/2021
Anti-clockwise circuit from tent at end of track running west from power station. Beinn a Bhathaich Ard(C); Sgurr a Phottain(Ct); Carn a Ghorm Locha(Gt); Sgurr a Ghlasein(Gt) which had what appears to be a concrete garden gnome on the summit cairn! Parked at the power station 378405. Hydro track goes SW and then west and after 1.5 mile goes directly north to a small dam. Followed the SE side of the Allt Doire Bhuig to the col and then easily to the summit. Windy but much drier after days of heavy rain. Solo.bolton05/09/2019
Climbed with Richard on the way to Aviemore from Ullapool. Week of bagging. Clear day, a few showers but generally goodamcculloch19/06/2019
With john and maarit. Nice, then wet, then dry. Veryhappybunny09/06/2019
As described in SMC Corbett guidebook: up the south ridge and back down the intermittent path via Sgurr a' Phollain and Loch na Bridge.davidpettit8425/05/2019
Long day if you go over the ridge first. If you want a quick up and down, drive to powerstation. A new really good track skirts around the hill into the Glen . Than a bit after a building at about 200m take a landrovertrack.it will take you to about 1km of the top.tallblond07/06/2018

Solo fr just outside gate to Glen Strathfarrar, 3h 5m total. Cloudy day w sparse, v light showers. Left landrover track too soon, on path shown on map, but it was horribly overgrown esp w ferns, very hard slog, thankfully not too hot. Near top the W wind was cold and insistent so v brief stop then down further SSW and found a lovely new track which made for a fast run all the way back! Check satellite imagery if you do it again.NorfolkPT2114/07/2017

A round of five summits from Struy. I got dropped off by the entrance to Strath Farrar. A god day considering i had probably consumed about ten pints the night before, had nothing to eat or drink since, and threw up on the ascent. However, a rummage in my hastily packed rucksack produced a banana of dubious age and some nuts etc to sustain me. Was good and sober by the time i got down.thenomad05/10/2015

A perfect day but a long and tedious ascent, well worth it for the views. Very little path on the descent until last 1.5 km to road.oatcake18/04/2015
Clockwise from Inchmore. In brisk wind, rain and thawing deep snow. Got thoroughly wetter by misjudging a stream jump and swept downstream. Yeugh.Martin R25/01/2015
Anticlockwise round from Inchmore. The path to Sgurr a'Phollain shown on map is locally indistinct and impossible to follow. Along the ridge and descend into Neaty Glen where by contrast the path a is now a 5m wide HGV track.Topographer5726/08/2014

Direct ascent from the SE. Didn't make it into the circuit as it was rather unpleasant on the summit. We had failed the previous year due to the deep powder snow.mindlessflogger17/12/2012
With Ned Kelly, had to avoid the "stalkers who apparently were in the Glen - we never saw or heard them.Meagaidh20/09/2012
w Jenx from Culligran. Followed water board track b4 cut up faint track GR374402 for short way (head deep bracken)then right fork on better track GR373403. At 220m leave track to follow good deer paths by Coire na Muic and gain ridge onto an Duine. Easy pull to top. Back down Neaty burn after Corbett tops.nordicstar11/08/2012

MC JC. After An Sidhean the previous day. Another shorts day: 20 deg. Rough in lower stretches - lost track. Half an hour on top sunbathing. A lot of snow on surrounding hills. Picked up some amazing shiny rocks in burn on hill. Descended directly SE to pick up path at Loch na Beiste.Martin6612/04/2010
