From Harlaw CP, which now seems like a mistake . The distance between Allermuir and Scald Law was much longer then a quick glance of a map showed. Didn't have time to bag Black Hill in my limited time there. Great views.Jhimmy24/03/2023
With Eve and Eilzo. As OS map shows, summit provides grand view of The Firth of Forth and beyond to the North, and the Pentland group to the South. Descent to Swanston sustains the excellent views to the North.RufusHodge25/02/2023

From the ski centre car park at Hill End. Out of the car park at the west end of the ski slopes leads to some big grassy paths then up to a fence and a signpost to Caerketton Hill. Obvious path all the way up and along the summit ridge to Allermuir hill. To descend retraced steps for a few hundred metres then took the obvious path that descended NE and then worked it 's way around the lower slopes of Caerketton Hill and then following the signposts to Hill End comes in at the Eastern end of the ski slope car park. Real pleasant 3 mile walk ~ 1hr 20 walking timeJulieB20/09/2021

Walked with Dave Johnes, from the Snowsports centre upper car park via the iron age fort above Hillend Country Park, then up to Caerketton Hill and across to Allermuir Hill and to the car diagonally across the northern slope. Dry with a moderate breeze and cracking views of Dumyat, North Berwick, the Lomond Hills and the whole forth valley and Lothians.chillyman814/07/2020
With L - walked from our week long cat sit in Morningside to do a 22 mile extended Pentland Skyline as a walk / run - Marvelling at how wonderfully close to the city are these steep grassy hills. Just getting our hill legs warmed up here and began to run the downhills --spurred on by being overtaken by 4 whippet like runners - half our age.Chris Pearson12/07/2020
