As others describe: leave road, taking walking track up towards the TV mast. Then circle clockwise to rear of mast site. Hop over the bog to the trig. If you have entered the woodland, you've gone too far. | Pete West | 23/10/2023 |
Route from Kieron Gribbon’s book Ireland’s county high points a single mile walk taking half an hour from the beginning of the access road at 195 846. | WAYNE ROWLETT | 15/09/2021 |
There’s parking for 8 or so cars at the bottom of the access track. From there a new walking trail takes you towards the telecoms mast but skirts around to the left to avoid coming walking under the supporting cables. The trail goes past the mast missing the summit cairn. So once past the mast, at N 1870 8420, turn right off the path and head towards the mast and you’ll find the trig. | Derek_Snaith | 25/07/2020 |
A short walk along with GB to the trig point. | bolton | 13/09/2014 |
Parked on the grass verge by the locked gates of the RTE NL access road - Up the access road and then along the track to the trig point situated just beyond the transmitter. (PM) | gerrybowes | 13/09/2014 |
Keep R at top of RTE road to locate the trig. | jimbloomer | 19/09/2011 |
Great views, long drive, 10 minute walk... | Roen | 23/07/2011 |
Did this one in the car!! RTE had left the gate open and as we'd spent ages in Carnbane East we were short of time and cheated. But we reached the top so that's all that matters. Easiest by a long shot. | Audi-Anne | 26/08/2008 |
